ASOCIACION AMIGOS DE LA MUSICA
DE
MARBELLA
The Amigos de la Música are going to celebrate, in the 2009 – 2010 season, their 40 th anniversary. A long road for a charitable philharmonic association (a pioneer not only in Marbella but aldo in the wider Costa del Sol) that with sporadic assistance has managed to survive four decades from its, beginnings on 23 October 1970 when we offered our first concert.
Founded by a Spaniard Mr. Fernando Sánchez and with two unsurpassable Honorary Presidents, Arthur Rubinstein and , currently, Plácido Domingo.
Daniel Barenboim, Nicanor Zabaleta, the Vienna Boy`s Choir, Moura Lympany, Joaquín Achúcarro, Alicia de la Rocha….amongst others and promising youngsters such as Edurne Ubani or Javier Perianes, have delighted ours members and guests.
We hope that Amigos de la Música will be able to celebrate another forty years with concerts and collaborations and continue to contribuye our grain of sand, with enthusiasm, as a cultural Project for our members and the town of Marbella.
